Puppy Care

Where are the puppies born and raised?

All puppies are born and raised inside our home—most often in a whelping pen located in our bedroom. During delivery, we remain with the mother to provide support and monitor both her and the puppies closely. While veterinary intervention is rarely needed, our veterinarian is located less than five minutes away and is available for emergency walk-ins if necessary.

For the first two weeks, the puppies stay in our bedroom, allowing us to respond immediately to any needs. Around two weeks of age, the whelping area is moved to a more central space in the home, where the puppies continue to receive daily handling and become accustomed to the sounds and rhythm of a busy household.

At approximately five weeks, puppies begin spending time outdoors during the day for fresh air and early socialization, while maintaining constant access to the indoors. All puppies sleep inside our home every night until they transition to their new families. We are deeply committed to ethical, humane, and attentive care. Every puppy is hand-raised in a loving home environment.

What socialization and early training do the puppies receive?

Puppies are handled daily from birth. Between days 3–16, they participate in the Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) program—a series of gentle exercises, originally designed to increase the performance of military dogs, that improves stress tolerance and supports long-term behavioral and physical health.

As they grow, puppies are gradually introduced to a variety of everyday sights, sounds, and experiences, including household activity, outdoor environments, and exposure to different surfaces and stimuli. They learn to navigate new situations with confidence while remaining in a group setting with their littermates, which helps develop appropriate social behaviors.

We prioritize early socialization during the first eight weeks to help ensure each puppy is well-adjusted, resilient, and prepared to thrive—whether as a family companion or a working dog.

Do you crate train or potty train the puppies?

We do not implement formal crate or potty training during the first eight weeks, as these methods require separation and restriction that conflict with our early development goals. Instead, we focus on building a strong foundation of socialization and adaptability, making the transition into structured training in their new homes smoother and more successful.

What medical care do the puppies receive?

Puppies receive routine deworming every two weeks beginning at four weeks of age. At six weeks, they are examined by a licensed veterinarian, who performs a comprehensive head-to-tail health check.

At this visit, puppies also receive:

Their first round of vaccinations

Microchipping

Official veterinary documentation

At least one set of vaccinations are administered by a licensed veterinarian to ensure proper medical records for future boarding, travel, and veterinary care.

Payments

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payment via cash, Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal. Credit cards may be used through PayPal. We do not accept checks or money orders. Some litters may also be listed on the Good Dog platform, which offers financing options for qualified buyers. Please note that any fees, terms, or financing arrangements through third-party platforms are the responsibility of the buyer.

Why do you charge a reservation fee?

The reservation fee secures your place in the selection process and confirms your commitment. It also allows us to plan responsibly for each puppy’s placement.

Is the reservation fee refundable?

Reservation fees are non-refundable in the event of a change in buyer circumstances. They are refundable only if we are unable or unwilling to complete the placement. The fee may be transferred to another available puppy within the same litter. If a medical concern is identified during the puppy’s veterinary exam and no suitable alternative puppy is available, the fee will be refunded.

Will our puppy be healthy?

Yes—your puppy is backed by our comprehensive health guarantee.

We require that your puppy be examined by your veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup for the 72 hour health guarantee to apply. If any illness, infection, or parasite is identified during this time, we will cover the cost of diagnosis and treatment.

If a genetic defect is identified, we will replace the puppy. Additionally, our health guarantee extends through the puppy’s first year. Should a severe genetic condition arise within that time, we will either provide a replacement puppy or reimburse veterinary expenses up to the original purchase price.

All parent dogs undergo extensive genetic testing, screening for nearly 200 conditions common to the breed. Your puppy is guaranteed to be unaffected by these tested conditions.
